About Counting Edge

Counting Edge: Card Counter is a free, open-source card counting trainer for Android, made by VectorLogic. This site is its home: the download, the guides, and free trainers you can use in your browser.

What Counting Edge is

• A training tool. It is for practicing at home: the count, the true count, bet sizing and strategy deviations. It is not for use at a casino table, where devices are banned and, in Nevada, a felony. See is card counting illegal?
• Free, with nothing held back. All seven counting systems and every feature are available on install. No ads, no account, no in-app purchases.
• Private. The app asks for no permissions, not even internet access, so your practice stays on your phone. The website has no accounts and sets no cookies; the privacy policy lists what each page load does reach.
• Open source. The app and this website are public on GitHub under the Apache 2.0 license, so anyone can read exactly how every number is worked out.

Who makes it

Counting Edge and blackjackcounter.app are built and maintained by VectorLogic. All the code is on GitHub: the Android app and the website. Releases are published there too, with a SHA-256 checksum for every APK; see the download page.

How we check the numbers

Figures on this site come from the same code the app runs, so the site and the app always agree. When the app changes, the matching pages change with it.

Betting correlation, playing efficiency and insurance correlation are not worked out by the app. For those we use the figures commonly published for each system in the counting literature, and keep them the same on every page. Legal pages cite the statutes and court decisions they rely on.
